Ace it was founded by Uzair Moola and Faeez Saloojee and was founded with the goal of providing
cheaper tuition alternative as well as enabling us to earn an extra income as we were both university
students.
Initially, all tuition lessons were conducted by the co-founders, which brought about some difficulties
and challenges but with that came a form of enjoyment. The enjoyment of sharing knowledge and
educating students who need extra assistance.
Ace it had 27 students by the end of its first year, which surprisingly exceeded the set target of 20.
This coupled with Ace its’ end of year crash course campaign lead to the inception of brand
awareness. The rise in brand awareness created the demand for offering more subjects and with this
came the need for extra hands, thus Ace it began hiring tutors.
About halfway through the 2nd year the co-founders took a step back from this short-term success
and realized an opportunity presenting itself. They began asking why a need for tuition in the first
place, as this was rarely the case 15-20 years ago and it's quite clear that there is something
fundamentally wrong with the current education systems in place. When asked about their future
careers, the majority of students knew what they want to do as and slightly less knew how to go about
doing it, but almost none could answer as to why they want to do it. With further research and
multiple discussions, it is found that many of today’s working generation is seemingly unhappy and
hate their jobs and when asked they said they don’t know why they are doing it. This means that the
schooling systems either failed to clarify why they should pursue a specific career or if they did they
provided the wrong why’s such as “there’s good money in it”, “You’ll have job security” and “it’s the
going trend”. All of which are poor metrics for sustainable happiness and job fulfillment. Reason: its
short-term goals. Thus, if we want to bring about change, if we want to improve the system, if we
want to have sustainability, we, therefore, need to change our why. Helping individuals find their why
or at least know how to find it is the fundamental goal for ACE IT. We firmly believe that we will
achieve this goal simply by creating an environment that creates a quality work ethic coupled with
a winning mindset.
We do understand this is no easy mission and will require tremendous amounts of work and
perseverance and we’ll most likely fail multiple times along the way, but we so strongly believe that
we can make this dream possible and inspire individuals to take the action to find their why.
